The Passion of the Christ

Position : Sound Designer

Release Date : February 2004

Project Description :

Matt worked closely with Mel Gibson on this record-breaking and controversial film. Although being a period piece the film was very stylized allowing limitless sonic interpretations - a Sound Designers dream. Mel was open to experimental and sonic exploration, giving free-reign to develop what is now the sonic imprint on this film. With a small crew, Matt handled all the FX editorial Supervision and Design work. Matt employed the use of many esoteric plug-ins and the use of virtual instruments to help create this soundtrack. Much of the Sound Design work was pre-mixed at Matts studio before mixing the final at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City,Ca with Oscar Award winner Bob Beemer and 20-time Oscar Nominee Kevin OConnel.
